Course Information

SQA BSL: An Introduction (Course Code: F8Y0 09 – SCQF level 3).

Duration:  20 Weeks - 6pm-8pm Wednesday evenings.

Venue: Deaf Connections, 100 Norfolk St, Gorbals, Glasgow, G5 9EJ

Cost:   £360 (includes SQA registration fees)

Start Dates: Wednesday January 18th 2012 - 6pm-8pm

On completion of this introductory module candidates will be able to hold a basic conversation with a user of BSL. Candidates will learn a number of topics in the language including finger-spelling, numbers, family members, colours, hobbies, occupations, times and dates.

Available Funding

All courses are approved by ILA Scotland. ILA Scotland is a Scottish Government scheme that can help pay for the cost of learning. It’s for people who are 16 or over and living in Scotland. If your income is £22,000 a year or less, or you are on benefits, you can apply for a learner account from ILA Scotland that will give you up to £200 a year towards the cost of this course. Please Note: Full payment of your course must be received before or on course start date. If you receive ILA funding you must bring the ILA voucher with you on the day of your first class.
