Course Information

SQA BSL Level 1 (Course Code: D13T 10 - SCQF Level 3)

Duration: 20 Weeks - 6pm-8pm Tuesday evenings.

Venue: Deaf Connections, 100 Norfolk St, Gorbals, Glasgow, G5 9EJ, Room 1

Cost: Â£360 (includes SQA registration fees)

Start Date: Tuesday January 17th 2012 - 6pm-8pm

Candidates enrolling for this course should normally have completed the Introduction to BSL although this is not essential. The course will give a deeper insight into the richness of BSL and more fluency will naturally take place as the candidate progresses. Achievement of this module will involve personal, social and formal topics giving the candidate a broader vocabulary. On completion the candidate will be able to hold a conversation with a user of BSL in a number of topics and so will also find that they have gained more confidence using BSL.

Available Funding

All courses are approved by ILA Scotland. ILA Scotland is a Scottish Government scheme that can help pay for the cost of learning. Itâ€™s for people who are 16 or over and living in Scotland. If your income is Â£22,000 a year or less, or you are on benefits, you can apply for a learner account from ILA Scotland that will give you up to Â£200 a year towards the cost of this course.
