Course Information

10 Week Taster Course (Attendance Certificate)

Duration: 10 Week - 6pm-8pm Monday evenings

Venue: Deaf Connections, 100 Norfolk St, Gorbals, Glasgow, G5 9EJ

Cost: £165 

Start Date: Monday January 16th 2012 - 6pm-8pm

This course will give a basic insight into the grammar and syntax of BSL. It will offer first steps towards further learning and deaf awareness issues will be addressed.

Available Funding

All courses are approved by ILA Scotland. ILA Scotland is a Scottish Government scheme that can help pay for the cost of learning. It’s for people who are 16 or over and living in Scotland. If your income is £22,000 a year or less, or you are on benefits, you can apply for a learner account from ILA Scotland that will give you up to £200 a year towards the cost of this course. Glasgow Society for the Education of the Deaf and Dumb. This trust has limited funding for individuals learning BSL. For further information contact direct on www.gsedd.org.uk/.

Complete and submit the online application form along with successful payment of course cost. You will receive confirmation by email or phone of your booking.

Please Note: Full payment of your course must be received before or on course start date. If you receive ILA funding you must bring the ILA voucher with you on the day of your first class.
